JOB DESCRIPTION:

DC Construction is seeking skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team!

The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of equipment used in road and pavement construction projects, such as, Rollers, Pavers, Asphalt Mill, and Skid Steers The ideal candidate should have knowledge of heavy equipment operation and experience in the construction industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a variety of equipment used in paving construction projects, including smooth drum rollers, padfoot rollers, rubber tire rollers, pavers, asphalt mill and skid steers.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Work with the paving crew to ensure proper compaction and grading of the surface being paved.
• Use hand signals or two-way radios to communicate with crew members and the equipment operator.
• Monitor equipment's speed and direction to ensure it is properly aligned and positioned on the surface being paved.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work on equipment, such as changing filters, greasing bearings, and checking fluids.
• Ensure that all safety regulations and procedures are followed on the job site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience operating Heavy Equipment in road or pavement construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
• Familiarity with GPS technology and machine control systems.
• Physical stamina and strength to operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
