Other responsibilities include retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Being a Patient Transporter may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Patient Transporter typically reports to a supervisor. The Patient Transporter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The Transporter is responsible for the safe and timely transfer and transport of patients, equipment and other materials throughout the hospital, medical office buildings, and surrounding parking lots. The Transporter has significant interaction with associates from several departments, with physicians and with patients and visitors for the purpose of providing excellent care and customer service in support of the mission and values of Providence Medical Center.
This is a full time day position with a shift between the hours of 6:30am-5:00pm and a half hour lunch.
Education and Work Experience 1. Must have BLS within 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 2. Ability to walk to perform basic transportation duties. 3. Experience escorting patients by wheelchair or cart preferred.
