    The Transporter is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients to and from the assigned Departments.


    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Assists with lifting and transferring patients from beds to transporting devices.
    • Observes patients condition during transport and protects the patient from injury by utilizing proper restraining equipment.
    • Cleans and maintains equipment and recommends repair. Also may be required to deliver equipment for repair.
    • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
    • Performs a variety of clerical tasks as necessary.
    Required:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • No previous experience necessary.
    • Extensive contact with patients, patients’ families, nursing staff, hospital staff and physicians.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required.
    • Must be able to recognize a problem with a patient being transported and seek assistance when necessary.
    • Ability to prioritize patient flow.
    • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
