Position Title: Patient Financial Services Representative
Position Summary: Responsible for the timely collection of patient accounts, setting up and monitoring payment plans, and working with an attorney when necessary on collection accounts.
Supervision Received: Reports to CFO
Essential Job Functions:
· Assist patients and staff with patient billing questions and concerns.
· Monitor and manage past due medical and dental accounts by sending letters and making calls, initiating follow-up correspondence, and managing collection accounts with THC’s attorney.
· Establish and monitor payment plans.
· Educate patients about THC’s sliding fee scale; determine eligibility and discount and assist in quarterly SFS audits.
· Review encounter forms.
· Post personal payments to medical accounts.
· Prepare daily bank deposits.
· Prepare, review and mail monthly statements.
· Medicaid pharmacy billing.
· Read mandatory internal communications distributed by email or hard copy.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Working Environment:
This position requires the ability to communicate in a supportive manner with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
