This is a full time a frontline, essential-staff, patient-facing position. Mostly dayshifts, some evenings. Every other weekend is required.
Holiday work is required. Requires work stability and dependability, excellent attendance.
The Patient Access Specialist interviews patients and / or their representatives to obtain complete and accurate demographic, financial and insurance information required for billing and collecting patient accounts.
Obtains all necessary customer consents. Coordinates the collection of all estimated patient liabilities, including co-payments and unmet deductibles.
Verifies insurance benefits and coverage for inpatients and outpatients. Responds to customer requests and answers questions regarding various service and account information.
Analyzes and rectifies customer concerns. Uses computer to access and / or update customer records.
Required Minimum Education : High School diploma or equivalent.
Requires Work stability and dependability. Excellent attendance.
Demonstrated professionalism : Professional appearance and behavior, effective communication skills and active listening skills. Superior customer service.
Physical Effort : Light to medium physical work level of up to 20 pounds. Ability to move patients using wheelchair.
