Pathology Assistant under the supervision of a pathologist assists with preparing and dissecting surgical specimens. Prepares and selects tissue samples for analysis. Being a Pathology Assistant may record findings or sterilize equipment. Requires a bachelor's/master's degree from an accredited program. Additionally, Pathology Assistant may require certification as a pathologist assistant. Typically reports to a pathologist. To be a Pathology Assistant typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. *OVERNIGHT SHIFT* 9pm - 5am
Under general supervision of Lab Department Manager / Laboratory Operations Manager / Senior VP Laboratory Operations, the Lab Aid/Assistant obtains, enters, records and sets up specimens received from referring Hospitals, Physicians, Clinics, and Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
