Pathology Assistant under the supervision of a pathologist assists with preparing and dissecting surgical specimens. Prepares and selects tissue samples for analysis. Being a Pathology Assistant may record findings or sterilize equipment. Requires a bachelor's/master's degree from an accredited program. Additionally, Pathology Assistant may require certification as a pathologist assistant. Typically reports to a pathologist. To be a Pathology Assistant typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Prepare patients for Examination and assist Provider in performance of patient exam in accordance with NYS law. Perform vision screening and tests to assist provider in collecting all measurements to preform examination. Obtain/update patient medical history.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
No experience necessary, Will train in office. Experience with knowledge in optical/ Optometry a plus but not required.
