Patent Attorney determines potential of granting patents on inventions or trademarks, and monitors possibility of infringement. Responsible for preparing and filing patent applications and trademark registrations, litigating pending applications and registrations, and reporting possible violations. Being a Patent Attorney prosecutes violations of organization's registrations and/or patents. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Additionally, Patent Attorney requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patent Attorney work is closely managed. *Review current HATCI patent process documentation, recommend improvements, and prepare revised documentation*Work with HATCI engineers to identify gaps in current patent documentation*Create FAQ that details HATCI engineer's progress through the patent process*Perform prior art searches and evaluate patentability for HATCI engineer's inventions.*Prepare patent proposals for submission to Hyundai's headquarters IP team for consideration of patent filings.*Work with HATCI engineers to define, conduct, and produce patent landscapes.*Participate in patent ideation and development workshops, patent training, and other activities.*Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field*Student in junior/senior year or within 6 months of graduation; a graduate student will also be considered*Valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record*Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai/Kia must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
