Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare develops programs and provides services designed to meet the religious and spiritual needs of patients, their families, and healthcare staff. Ensures that pastoral services are staffed so that chaplains are available to support patients and families facing difficult medical choices. Being a Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare ensures that emotional support, spiritual counsel and comfort are provided. Plans and coordinates with other clergy to conduct interfaith worship experiences. Additionally, Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare may perform the duties of a chaplain. Requires a master's degree in divinity. Typically reports to top management. The Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Pastoral Care Director - Healthcare typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Assess and address the spiritual} pastoral, bereavement and additional individual and/or group counseling needs. Develop and implement individualized spiritual and bereavement plans of care in collaboration with local clergy and the interdisciplinary team. Conduct religious ceremonies, bereavement support groups, and educational programs as appropriate Provides training for local clergy in bereavement support and end of life spiritual care.
