    Springfield Bible Church (springfieldbible.org) is seeking a Youth Pastor.  



    Requirements

    The Church 

    We are an evangelical church of about 250 people located in the state capital of Springfield, IL. Springfield is approximately 200 miles south of Chicago and 100 miles north of St. Louis. The greater Springfield area has an approximate population of 200,000, consisting of a thriving medical community, a university (UIS), and many State of Illinois jobs. The church was founded in 1974, and we have a good mix of multiple generations in the church. We believe this position is very important in helping us train up the next generation in the Lord. 

    The Candidate

    We are looking for someone in this leadership role who would possess a high biblical character as described in 1 Timothy 3:1–13. 

     

    Our Sunday worship services consists of some traditional hymns and songs as well as some contemporary songs. We presently have a youth group (6th – 12th grade) with 10 – 20 students who attend a Wednesday night weekly meeting. We also have a growing children’s ministry (Pre-K – 5th grade) with 20–30 children who attend Jr. Church on Sunday mornings. 

    This position would involve overseeing the church’s student ministries (6th – 12th grade), teaching each week, planning special events, and overseeing special summer events and trips. The youth pastor would be heavily involved in the discipleship of the students in the church. We also have an annual Vacation Bible School with attendance often in the 80’s.
