Pastor directs religious services and all daily operations of an organization. Provides spiritual leadership, guidance, and assistance to members. Being a Pastor supervises church staff and associated administrative businesses to ensure operational needs are met. Designs and oversees outreach and educational programs and events to support the community. Additionally, Pastor coordinates volunteers to ensure community outreach goals are fulfilled. Performs religious services, leads prayer, and conducts worship. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a regional or chapter manager. The Pastor typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Pastor typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     JOB TITLE:

    Groups & Local Mission Director (Full-Time)


    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Groups
      • Give leadership, vision and oversight to Connection Groups and Summer Men’s and Women’s Groups.  This includes: Recruiting, Vetting, Training, Caring for and Evaluating Connection Group Leaders for The Commons.
      • Develop and maintain an annual plan (aka. The CG Playbook) that ensures continuous improvement and growth of small group involvement.
      • Build structure and systems that enables our groups ministry to scale as our church grows
      • Supervise Connections Coordinator, Women’s Ministry Lead, and Pastor of Spiritual Formation and Care
    • Local Missions
      • Work with leadership at The Commons to develop and facilitate the vision for local missions.  
      • Help lead The Commons to be a church that is fully invested in meeting the needs of our city
      • Recruit and organize teams of people to serve within the different local missions opportunities
      • Recruit and give oversight to super volunteers to lead the different local missions opportunities within our church (ie. prison ministry, homeless ministry, local schools ministry, international ministry, etc.)
    • Facilities
      • Lead facilities team/facilities team super volunteer for any maintenance & small project needs 
      • Act as the primary point of contact with banks, architects, construction companies for major building projects 
    • Other
      • Supervise TCY Lead and Guest Experience Lead

    OTHER DUTIES:

    All staff members are expected to model flexibility and a willingness to take part in church activities and initiatives that may be outside of their normal day-to-day responsibilities and to model servant leadership in their position at all times.  


    SUMMARY:

    The Groups & Operations Director/Pastor  is primarily responsible for ….  This role reports directly to the Lead Pastor and relies on this direct report for influence and direction.

    COMPETENCY:

    The leadership competencies required: team building, vision-casting and training leaders for ministry; ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment; excellent working knowledge of the Bible; tactical thinker with proven ability to equip leaders and organize functional structures; able to connect multi-generationally; solid understanding of organizational finances and budgeting processes; proficient computer skills (ie. word processing, church database software, quickbooks, contribution software, etc…)
