Parts Supervisor identifies, inspects, coordinates, and processes parts to be exchanged. Dispatches material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments. Being a Parts Supervisor monitors all backorders and communicates and provides technical assistance to parts sales, customers, and branches. Updates and monitors the parts inventory database and places orders as needed. Additionally, Parts Supervisor generates progress reports on schedule status, parts usage, and inventory and keeps records of completed orders. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Parts Supervisor independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Responsible for directing the daily outbound operations of the shipping / loading department within a distribution center.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Oversee all aspects of the shipping / loading department.
Assist in ensuring that the department is compliant with company operations, policies, and procedures on a daily basis.
Work with the operations and DC managers to maintain payroll figures, budgeting, productivity, etc. within the departments.
Provide leadership, training, and guidance throughout the department and work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
Work with managers to establish annual goals and the plan to follow for accomplishing these goals.
Work closely with the human resources supervisor and the operations manager to ensure effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
Assist the operations and DC managers with planning to prepare annual capital expenditure listing for budgeting purposes.
Work with operations and DC managers for approval on any expenditure for the department.
Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Required :
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on customer service
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and match numerical and alpha characters quickly and accurately
Basic computer skills
Desired :
College degree or logistics certification
2 years previous supervisory experience
Advanced computer skills
Completion of O'Reilly supervisor training program
Bilingual (English / Spanish preferred)
