Parts Manager jobs in Washington

Parts Manager supports the parts department with technical, procedural, inventory control, and parts exchange support. Manages material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments. Being a Parts Manager monitors and troubleshoots all backorders and communicates and provides technical assistance to parts sales, customers, and branches. Monitors the parts inventory database and places orders as needed. Additionally, Parts Manager reviews progress reports on schedule status, parts usage, and inventory and makes necessary adjustments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Parts Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Parts Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     As a Parts Manager, you would be responsible for managing an efficient and profitable parts department as well as the employees in the parts department. Primary objectives include ensuring customer satisfaction and retention, ensuring the correct part is available the first visit, controlling costs, merchandising, maintaining good employee relationships, and maintaining department records.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Monitor current customer base and recommend strategies to attain more clients and ensure optimal level of customer satisfaction.
    • Determine part sales objectives and targets and ensure compatibility for same with dealer productivity and provide assistance to all customers.
    • Develop effective parts processes for both internal and external customers and maintain an inventory for all service departments and coordinate with various vendors to obtain all discounts.
    • Train all employees to work efficiently with all customers and parts and ensure effectiveness of all warehouse operations according to objectives and prepare appropriate forecasts.
    • Identify and resolve all issues in parts department and ensure achievement of all short- and long-term objectives.
    • Prepare monthly and annual sales plans and targets and evaluate all activities for department.
    • Design various merchandising strategies and monitor inventory of all physical parts and oversee all return processes for parts.
    • Maintain all warranty claims and assist in all changes and coordinate with vendors for all shipping delays to ensure compliance to time.
    • Manage all purchase orders and resolve any discrepancy for all purchase orders.
    • Train all parts personnel in sales and inventory procedures and participate in all sales meetings.
    • Ensure and maintain effective training standards for all employees.
    • High school diploma or GED
    • One year of dealership or parts retail management experience
    • Past management of employees within that setting.
