Being a Parts Inventory monitors all backorders and communicates and provides technical assistance to parts sales, customers, and branches. Updates and monitors the Parts Inventory database and places orders as needed. Additionally, Parts Inventory generates progress reports on schedule status, parts usage, and inventory and keeps records of completed orders. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Parts Inventory works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. The Parts & Inventory Control Specialist assists shop operations by researching options, negotiating pricing, preparing parts estimates, ordering, coordinating, purchasing, receiving, stocking and tracking of the parts inventory for STS Truck Services and customers.
Essential Job Functions:
· Manage parts & inventory including, but not limited to, handling the purchasing, receiving, stocking and tracking of parts inventory and distribution as well as communicating status updates to shop team daily.
· Develop a preferred vendor list and negotiate prices for all items purchased
· Generate purchase orders following purchasing guidelines
· Receive and stock all parts ordered and purchased both physically and in software, and work with shop personnel on warranty claims, returns and estimates.
· Set inventory bin levels to be efficient and complete daily inventory counts to monitor, and reconcile, accuracy of parts inventory
· Support STSTS team by running parts, answering phones, completing transactions and working with customers
· Perform routine cleaning and washing of equipment and facilities as well as yard maintenance.
· Responsible for the organization & cleanliness of parts room & warehouses.
· Other related duties as may be assigned*
