Parts Exchange identifies, inspects, coordinates, and processes parts to be exchanged. Dispatches material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments. Being a Parts Exchange monitors all backorders and communicates and provides technical assistance to parts sales, customers, and branches. Updates and monitors the parts inventory database and places orders as needed. Additionally, Parts Exchange generates progress reports on schedule status, parts usage, and inventory and keeps records of completed orders. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Parts Exchange works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. QUALIFICATIONS
A total of four (4) years consisting of the following
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Three years’ experience in responsible work that enabled the applicant to gain a general knowledge of merchandising and retail practices and processes skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each nine (9) months of experience up to a maximum of a four (4) year bachelor s degree for three (3) years of general experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of responsible experience which provided a knowledge of retail and or service type operations practices and procedures and an understanding of management methods and techniques utilized in monitoring developing and improving operational plans or similar work which demonstrated improving operational plans maintenance of inventory levels and stock controls customer services maintenance of equipment exempt or nonexempt supervisory experience and maintaining effective sanitation security and safety regulations or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge and abilities to perform the work of the position.
