Parts Director oversees all parts operations including accounting, parts systems, processes and procedures. Improves parts operations to facilitate growth and successfully achieve the company's long-term strategic goals. Being a Parts Director designs policies and procedures for inspection, handling, and processing of parts to be exchanged. Ensures materials and parts are available in accordance with production schedules and commitments. Additionally, Parts Director reviews the parts inventory database and evaluates strategies to optimize inventory. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Parts Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Parts Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Director of Aftermarket Parts Sales & Operations will develop and manage all strategies and tactics relevant to building and growing parts sales and delivery to customers and dealers.  This will include not only management of the parts sales team and associated sales programs in collaboration with an independent dealer network in the USA and Canada but also establish and maintain proper aftermarket parts warehouse operations and associated logistics.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values.  The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. 

    1. Leads and manages the parts sales team to ensure availability and competencies to answer inquiries from dealers and customers as well as process orders accordingly.
    2. Develops an aftermarket parts sales strategy and associated action plans to grow the aftermarket parts business in terms of revenue and profitability.
    3. Builds programs to incentivize dealers to stock proper and adequate parts at their locations.
    4. Builds an easy-to-use sales platform (e-commerce) for customer and dealer parts ordering and sales.
    5. Utilizes data analytics to manage inventory and report key findings to management to advance parts sales growth.
    6. Establishes and maintains proper parts inventory stocking levels and locations, including replenishment plans.
    7. Develops and sustains sound parts procurement via supplier partners.
    8. Supports customer service and engineering by identification of failures and trends in components utilizing parts sales data.
    9. Sustain the Quality Management System with required departmental standards.
    10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Required Education:

    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • Associates or Bachelors in Business Administration or other relevant discipline.

    Preferred Education:

    • Masters Business Administration.

    Required Experience:

    • Three years of demonstrated progressive results in aftermarket parts sales.  This includes partnering with an independent dealer network.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Minimum of five years of customer service and/or parts sales operations with an industrial machinery or specialty vehicle OEM; agricultural machinery or equipment OEM; heavy-duty commercial truck OEM, or similar related experience.
    • Minimum of five years in a leadership or managerial role.

    • Travel requirements may be a minimum of 25% of the year to visit dealers and attend shows.

    Communications Skills:

    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and when relevant, governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence such as memorandums or bulletins, and processes or procedures as needed for department functionality.
    • Ability to use effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of peers, customers, and dealers.

    Mathematical Skills: 

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.  Ideally, basic understanding of business statistics.

    Reasoning Ability:

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Computer and Software Skills:

    • Ability to perform intermediate PC functions.
    • Able to work efficiently with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Windows. 

    Decision Making: 

    • Responsibilities are guided by general company principles and objectives.
    • There is broad latitude for making decisions with primary control over results that are reviewed at completion.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    This position works in an office environment and has access to all welfare facilities. It is a quiet environment that is temperature controlled, ventilated, and well-lit. Working Conditions will include a desk space where most of the shift will be spent, and it provides open space to work in. This office space is routinely cleaned by Rosenbauer Cleaning Services. This position requires traveling off of the campus, so working conditions may vary.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This position requires sitting for an extended period of time with minimal standing or walking. During shifts, the use of hands and fingers may exceed 60 minutes, while the use of feet and legs may be for 30 to 60 minutes. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, and good depth perception. This position also requires the use of knees, back, shoulders, and arms for up to 15 minutes. All positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds.
