Parole Officer is responsible for managing designated cases for prisoners who are on parole. Assesses the needs of the parolee, schedules and sets standards for supervision and creates reports on progress and behavior. Being a Parole Officer is responsible for scheduling or supervising rehabilitation program attendance and progress. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Parole Officer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Parole Officer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Provides a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public areas including, but not limited to, the main building, outlying buildings, grounds, parking areas, stairways, tunnels, mechanical areas, and patient treatment areas.
    • Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
    • Intervenes during crisis. This includes the ability to quickly grasp various situations, develop rapport with emotionally disturbed people, and understand when people are or are not processing information, and be supportive or directive as needed. Takes direction from clinical and medical staff as appropriate.
    • Physically intervenes during crises including physically restraining people who may be physically larger and/or heavier, while making all efforts not to inflict injury. Continues to direct compliance from people while they are being restrained.
    • Escorts persons and assists staff.
    • Stays alert and vigilant for activities which could result in injury to a person or damage to or loss of property.
    • Communicates effectively with employees, visitors, patients, vendors, and all others.
    • Comprehends and executes written or verbal instructions.
    • Writes accurate, clear, and legible reports.
    • Maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers, client staff members and other client vendors.
    • Maintains a functional knowledge of the organization’s buildings and grounds.
    • Enforces and abides by all policies and guidelines.
    • Maintains a valid driver’s license and possesses the ability to operate a variety of motor vehicles.
    • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
    • Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned. This list is non-exhaustive.
    • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

       

    • Education, Training, Experience:
    • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency.
    • License, Certifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable jurisdictional security license(s) or certifications within the first 90 days of employment. Must obtain and maintain BLS certification within 90 of employment. See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.  IAHSS certification preferred, but not required.
    • Experience: Previous experience working with the public in a service setting preferred.
