    Operations Support and LIO, Administrative Specialist 1 (Salem) – 12-month internal job rotation
    This recruitment is intended to fill a 12-month job rotation available for current regular status employees of the Oregon Board of Parole, probation, and Post- Prison Supervision with their current managers approval. The job rotation may be lengthened or shortened based on business need.
    This position is represented by American Federations of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
    Your role:
    This position manages the Board of Parole’s records office and all offender files. You will analyze and respond to requests from various stakeholders including attorneys, courts, law makers, departments, and internal requests. You will review relevant laws and policies to determine if requests are complete and correct and what information to release in response.
    In addition to work involving records, you will provide confidential administrative support for the operations manager. You will work independently to identify and resolve problems, improve processes, and anticipate needs. You will communicate regularly representing the board to the public including staffing reception, responding to calls, and receiving emails.
    You will work on a range of administrative tasks like managing calendars, taking meeting notes, coordinating purchasing, and compiling information.
    What We Are Looking For
    Minimum Qualifications
    Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR
    An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR
    An equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Requirements for Employment
    You must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: felony convictions, computer theft, identify theft and fraud. CJIS clearance is done at the conditional job offer.

    The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range. Also provided are fully paid retirement program, modest life insurance policy, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.
