Job Summary:
We are seeking Youth Parole Officer III to supervise and enforce conditional liberty agreements for youth in the South Eastern Arizona to include Pima, Santa Cruz, Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and Pinal Counties. This position will communicate with facility staff, youth, judges, counselors, families and placement centers to develop treatment plans, goals and objectives to prepare youth to be successful in the community. Job Duties:
- Supervise juveniles committed to ADJC on parole and/or in Arizona under the Interstate Commission of juveniles agreement, ensuring case plan objectives are being met.
- Maintains case management of parole juveniles and ensures electronic files are updated and accurate.
- Determine appropriate placement, counseling, educational goals, and/or work programming of assigned juveniles, as well as, coordinate treatment and counseling services for juveniles as needed Communicate with institutional staff, juveniles, judges, counselors, families, and placement staff to develop parole and treatment plans, goals and objectives to prepare juveniles to be successful in the community.
- Act as a liaison with a variety of community agencies and Interstate Commission for Juvenile Offices (schools, counseling, treatment centers, juvenile justice centers, and Interstate Commission for Juvenile Offices nationally).
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

- Case Management principles and practices.
- Behavioral and cognitive therapeutic treatment interventions and behavior modification techniques.
- Family, individual, and group modalities.
- Local community resources available to implement specialized treatment programs and treatment plans.

- Various state child-serving agencies such as the Regional Behavioral Health Authority, Department of Child Safety, and Juvenile Courts.
- ADJC Policy and procedures.
- Due Process proceedings, Rules of the Court, and Rules of Evidence.
- Interstate Commission for Juveniles rules and procedure.
Skill in:
- Interpersonal skills regarding interaction with difficult and complex families.
- Conducting and evaluating family systems and therapeutic modalities.
- Assessing juveniles and family’s needs/risk factors and providing appropriate referral to intervention.
- Understanding family dynamics, communication, and interaction patterns in families.
- Crisis intervention, mediation, and interpersonal dynamics.

- Computer software to include but not limited to Google Suites.
Ability to:
- Work on a variety of assignments with minimal supervision.
- Prioritize assignments with crisis situations taking precedence.
- Recognize emergency or dangerous psychiatric emergencies and take appropriate interventions to ensure the safety of the juveniles and families.
- Be able to travel throughout the state, including overnight stays, as needed.
- Liaison with human services providers, schools, law enforcement, and government entities.
- Work varied days and hours.
- Work in a correctional environment on occasion.
Selective Preference(s):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social and/or Behavioral Science or a related field of study.
- Case planning, case management, and report writing experience.
- Speak, read and write Spanish.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function on the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license records checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.010).

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a comprehensive background investigation, behavioral assessment, drug test, and a pre-employment physical examination.

CORP Tier 3 is a Defined Contribution, 401 (a) retirement plan
New members have the opportunity to define their contribution amount
Employer contributes a dollar-for-dollar match equal to 5% of a member's salary
Employees are fully vested after 3 years of service
