Being a Parking Attendant may park and retrieve automobiles in a full-service parking lot or garage. Greets guests and ensures timely service. Additionally, Parking Attendant may require a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Driver's license. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Parking Attendant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Watches assigned lot for suspicious activity and reports such to campus security.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or GED required
- Some College preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Parking lot or parking ramp background preferred
- Knowledge of computerized cash registers
- Electronic or mechanical experience preferred
- Past service in public relations field preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Ability to work directly with the general public
- Demonstrates good customer relation skills
- Must have elementary knowledge of the English language
- Ability to work independently
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work involves continuous interaction with customers in a fast-paced environment
- Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, repetitive grasping, bending and reaching
- Exposure to car pollution, sun rays, dirt and grime in day to day work
- Should be able to withstand adverse weather conditions; exposure to extreme temperatures
