Paralegal Manager manages and develops the paralegal team and the systems and processes utilized to conduct research and produce legal documents. Responsible for case management by assigning cases and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion. Being a Paralegal Manager validates and oversees the preparation of legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, motions, appeals, wills, and contracts. Organizes documents into formal report and proofs for attorneys. Additionally, Paralegal Manager provides research and training support to the paralegals utilizing databases and legal libraries. Coordinates with attorneys on special requests or highly complex projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Paralegal Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Paralegal Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Personal Injury Case Manager (Paralegal)

  • Speaks Law Firm is seeking an experienced personal injury Case Manager (Paralegal) for our pre-litigation team in beautiful coastal Wilmington, North Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that client treatment, insurance, medical records, and coordination of all aspects of care are completed for preparation for the attorneys or negotiators. This is a high volume role that requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organization, and strong time management skills!

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintaining effective communication with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
    • Demonstrating key performance indicators and driving tasks to completion with minimal supervisory oversight
    • Communicating daily with insurance and health adjusters regarding policies, PIP logs and statement coordination
    • Coordinate with other legal support staff, and direct balance clerks and legal assistants with workflow
    • Understanding subrogation liens and disputing unrelated charges is a must
    • Completing balance sheets accurately reflecting Rule 414 payments/adjustments
    • Heavy client contact regarding treatment, scheduling, wage loss, etc
    • Assisting with communication between client and adjusters regarding property damage coverage
    • This role works under the direct supervision of a Lead Case Manager

    Physical Requirements:

    The Case Manager must maintain the physical condition necessary to perform tasks in an office setting such as operating a personal computer, keyboards, and filing. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • At least 2 years as a paralegal in personal injury
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Understanding of legal language and principles, and other related processes
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
    • Must be understanding and patient
    • High degree of self-motivation to drive work flow
    • Professional work ethic with team centric attitude

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ideal candidate will have 3 years or more of personal injury paralegal experience
    • Paralegal Certification or coursework in Paralegal Studies
    • Neo Needles experience
    • Public Notary in North Carolina

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $49,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
