Paralegal assists and supports attorneys with research and document preparation for court proceedings and legal transactions. Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes to research and analyze legal topics. Being a Paralegal drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments. Additionally, Paralegal assists attorneys with depositions, interviews, discovery, and investigations. Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology. Applies specialized legal terminology appropriately in documents. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to an attorney. · Assisting with investigating cases;

· Researching case-related issues;
· Communicating with clients, law enforcement, medical care providers, claims adjusters, lawyers, and court personnel;
· Summarizing medical records and itemizing medical bills;
· E-filing documents with courts;
· Attending client meetings;
· Actively participating in case planning meetings; and
· Other duties.
Qualifications include:
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe with a strong aptitude for learning new software and systems. Experience with Trialworks case management software is a plus;
· Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask;
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
· Deadline and detail oriented;
· Compassionate and caring;
· Flexible team player who takes all necessary steps to finish the job;
· Legal, medical, and/or insurance background is desirable but not required.
