Paralegal jobs in Minnesota
Paralegal assists and supports attorneys with research and document preparation for court proceedings and legal transactions. Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes to research and analyze legal topics. Being a Paralegal drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments. Additionally, Paralegal assists attorneys with depositions, interviews, discovery, and investigations. Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology. Applies specialized legal terminology appropriately in documents. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Paralegal Certification. Typically reports to an attorney. The Paralegal work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be a Paralegal typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience. Job Description: Paralegal will assist attorneys on-site in the preparation of personal injury cases. Job responsibilities will include processing new client information, setting up new claims with insurance companies, gathering client medical records, corresponding with employers regarding client wages/work disabilities/restrictions, processing claims for reimbursement on behalf of clients, and managing all other aspects of new client files until they are done treating for their injuries and are ready for the settlement process. There are opportunities for legal research and other litigation related tasks depending on the qualifications of the applicant.
Qualifications: Applicant should be comfortable working with diverse clientele from different countries; be competent in computer-based legal research and word processing; and have good multi-tasking and customer service skills.
Compensation: Negotiable depending on qualifications
