Position Summary
Responsible for the food pantry which includes food donation pick-ups, mobile food pantry deliveries, maintaining a consistent state of cleanliness and order in all areas, packing and unpacking items to be stocked on shelves, and keeping an accurate count of inventory and investigating any discrepancies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of effective record-keeping practices and procedures.
Knowledge of food safety practices and principles.
Ability to plan and coordinate the distribution of food and commodities to the public.
Ability to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
Ability to maintain an adequate inventory of food and commodities to meet the needs of the program.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, lifting, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Moderate amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light to heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.) frequently.
Work is usually performed in a normal food pantry environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, with the exception of driving conditions.
