  • POSITION SUMMARY


    Under the guidance of the Facilities Manager and Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeper position entails the cleaning and maintaining of the appearance of Casino interiors, exterior offices, halls, restrooms, and other areas by performing the following duties.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Sweeps, scrubs, vacuums.
    • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and window treatments
    • Dusts furniture, video slot machines, casino equipment and polishes metal work.
    • Cleans, disinfects and sanitizes restrooms in the casino and office buildings
    • Washes door panels, and sills
    • Maintains exterior appearance of gaming devices in Casino
    • Empties wastebaskets, empties and cleans ashtrays, picks up trash and debris in and outside of the casino and office building.
    • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
    • Maintains daily reports for each assigned area.

    QUALIFICATIONS:


    • Must be able to move continuously move during shift.
    • Ability to use cleaning machinery
    • Ability to follow written instructions
    • Ability to write reports for supervisors on daily duties performed.
    • Comply with Cahuilla Casino policies and procedures.
    • Comply with Cahuilla Gaming ordinances, policies and procedures.
    • Other casino related duties that may be assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:


    • Demonstrated capability, initiative, self-motivation, communication skills and the ability to operate in a team approach environment.
    • Work experience that illustrates the applicants ability to review, evaluate, and recommend changes in management policies, operating systems, sales and plan development
    • Must be able to effectively represent the gaming enterprise in a public venue.
    • Must be experienced in communicating with guests.
    • Must have a California Drivers license
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • GED or High School Diploma preferred
    • Must be able to complete the 90 day Introductory Period in consecutive days as scheduled
    • Must possess the ability to interact with the public, fellow employees, tribal enterprises, country and state agencies demonstrating respect, tact, courtesy, objectivity and maturity to develop an effective and cooperative working relationship.
    • Ability to inform and communicate orally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations in order to address problems and relate established goals and objectives.

    While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and required to move about he Casino floor and exposed to a non-smoke free environment.


    Cahuilla Casino Hotel is committed to a drug and alcohol free workplace. Any job offer is conditional upon successful passing of a pre-employment drug test and must qualify for a Cahuilla Gaming License, which includes an extensive background security check.


    If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements, may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a reasonable time agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail t meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as so scheduled.


    A drug test will be required prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
