    ROLE SUMMARY:

    The Packaging Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the packaging department`s day to day operations for Apotho Therapeutic`s Athol Cultivation Facility. The Packaging Manager is a role that requires a hands-on approach to assist in shaping the culture of Apotho Therapeutics Athol, Inc. The Packaging Manager role serves to ensure the proper management and execution of production for the operational workflow from griding, sifting, sorting, packaging, allocating and shipping cannabis bulk flower and pre-packaged cannabis flower. This position is responsible for maintaining efficient, quality, compliant, and safe practices and standards, while proactively developing and evolving staffing, procedures, and technology towards continuous improvement. This role is responsible for the appropriate communication and collaboration from the Executive and Upper Management team with other Apotho Therapeutics departments and leadership as directed. This position will also provide support and training for all packaging staff, including schedules, training, policy and procedure updates. The Packaging Manager will report and be directed by the CEO/President of Apotho Therapeutics Athol Inc and the Production & Procurement Manager.

    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
    We are seeking a detail-oriented Packaging Manager who is process focused to join our team. You'll be responsible for efficiently packaging, maintaining inventory of bulk and finished cannabis products, all while maintaining quality control standards of a team of packagers. Dedicated adherence to process and procedure are critical to your success in this role. Proficiency in inventory management and both manual and automated packaging machinery desired.     MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prioritize tasks based on the daily packaging schedule.
    • Manage the workflow and data collection of our packaging team and company contracts.
    • Responsible for developing process improvements to packaging SOPs and quality control procedures.
    • Operate and clean packaging machines, equipment and areas. All while troubleshooting packaging-related issues as needed.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, and train and onboard new packaging team members. Perform inventory audits daily, weekly and monthly as needed
    • Ensure inventory records are always accurate
    • Follow state guidelines to maintain an accurate physical inventory and ensure the integrity of the dispensary records
    • Assist in managing State inventory system METRC.
    • Assist in deliveries (inbound/outbound) at the facility ensuring they are accurate
    • Adding all new products received and outbound into METRC
    • Participate in assessing the internal controls over inventory to identify deficiencies and develop corrective action plans for continuous improvement
    • Work with our Executive and Upper management team to ensure all inventory issues are handled in a timely fashion
    • Adhere to all mandatory state regulations
    • Oversee the procurement process to ensure consistent availability of products preferred by our customer base
    • Ability to manage a budget, and identify ways to contain procurement costs
    • Proven ability to negotiate successfully on behalf of the organization

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be and remain compliant with local, state, and federal laws, statutes, and regulations; particularly those related to working in the cannabis industry.
    • Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with personnel and government agencies.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    · Demonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Suite.

    · Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    · Flexibility to work non-traditional business hours as needed. The position will have the occasional need to be in the facility during non-traditional business hours.

    · Must be at least 21 years of age (legal requirement).

    · Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

    · Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    · Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance

    · Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.

    · Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions

    · Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

    · WORK SCHEDULE: 40-50 hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holiday

    Compliance and Reporting

    • Direct the packaging staff in upholding current laws and regulations of the facility. Adapt to updated laws and regulations to implement safe and effective practices to sustain highest quality standards and efficiencies.
    • Direct the packaging staff in training and supervision to ensure compliance of the cultivation facility. Manage, coordinate, train, coach, supervise, discipline, and analyze with staff to maintain compliant practices and workflow. Any compliance or safety mistake or error created must be addressed, reported, and resolved. Communication with appropriate leadership to ensure resolution.
    • Direct the staff of the packaging department towards the communication and collaboration with other supporting departments, such as and not limited to, Analytics, C&A, and Quality Assurance to ensure workflow operation maintains proper reporting, tracking, and compliance with laws, regulations, and company practices.
    • Report production loss and quality for each batch of Cannabis Flower.

    Supervision

    • Works under the direct supervision of the CEO and Production & Procurement Manager.
    • This position is responsible for the supervision and management of the Packaging staff members. Assist with directing and management of employees, including hiring and developing, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving employee issues only as directed by the CEO of Apotho Therapeutics Athol Inc.
    • Ensure that individual and team member of the cultivation department meets the Apotho Therapeutic's standards of service and quality.
    • Supervise the Packaging department attendance, time off balances, time off requests, pay change requests, position change requests, and all other attendance and documentation related procedures/processes only as directed by the CEO of Apotho Therapeutics Athol Inc.

    Schedule: Full Time, 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday
