Packaging Machine Operator jobs in Conway, AR
Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Requirements & Responsibilities
- Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift and mandatory overtime as required
- Must have reliable transportation and outstanding attendance
- Follow specific directions
- Perform repetitive stacking, sorting or labeling boxes
- Standing, walking, twisting, squatting, kneeling, pressing buttons, operate digital monitor on machine
- Ability to work in a non-climate controlled work environment
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math used in the manufacturing process
- Picks up parts, paper, objects and residue off the floor and around work stations
- Ability to operate power hand tools
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to lift up to 50 - 75 pounds as required
- Follow all established processes and procedures
- Ability to work safely and follow all safety regulations and practices
Requirements
Preferred Work Experience
Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have a positive, can do attitude and the ability to report to work on time every day.
