Description:

• 3-6 month project to design racks for parts on floor.
• This person will communicate with multiple departments including Materials, Program Launch, Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to confirm status of re-design of rack system.
• Estimated 50 current racks will need re-design with AutoCAD/Inventor to ensure new parts for new product project launch is effective and on-time.
• May consist of going on floor to work with Maintenance team who will be responsible for re-manufacture of existing racks to make sure they are built to re-design. Average rack is 2'x4' and can hold 280 pieces.
• Parts are mostly door dashes and pillars for vehicle.
• May also include some 3D overlay to ensure fit prior to build.
• May also work with Operations team to ensure racks can be used for existing and future kanban systems.
• Great opportunity to gain automotive design experience.

2 years in manufacturing design (may consider co-op/internship)

experience with design software (i.e.AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks - they use Inventor)

Preferred -

Bachelors in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred)

Manufacturing experience

Knowledge of welding/fabrication

Packaging design experience

Dealing with packaging suppliers
