PET Technologist is responsible for operating Positron Emission Tomography equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products to obtain information for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illnesses. Requires registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A. Being a PET Technologist r. T.) or The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (N. Additionally, PET Technologist m. T.C.B.). May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manage PET Technologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Sentara Brock Cancer Center, part of Sentara Leigh Hospital, is hiring a Pet/CT Technician for a PRN/Flexi Day shift position in Norfolk, VA.

This position is both for the Brock Cancer Center and our Mobile unit. Our Mobile Pet/CT unit works within 6 different sites around the Hampton Roads area. This is an 8-hour shift position between 7am and 8pm or 2 separate 4 hour shifts per week. Mileage reimbursement is offered. Travel to our Mobile Unit site is required. There is a heavy focus on Reasearch and Oncology- both routine and specialty. There is a strong, diverse team in place and its a "great place to work!" -the Pet/CT team at the Cancer Center.
Pet/CT Tech's:
Under general supervision, performs Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging procedures and related functions. Collaborates with leadership on technical issues, equipment performance, and quality assurance.
