PC Support Manager jobs in Washington
PC Support Manager manages a team that provides personal computer deployment and support, including setup, installation, repairs, upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting. Maintains the necessary hardware and software inventory and oversees the administration of required licenses. Being a PC Support Manager analyzes PC resource requirements and evaluates available vendors, products, and services that will meet the organization's needs. Implements training programs and develops documentation to support end-users. Additionally, PC Support Manager possesses experience in a LAN environment, a strong understanding of PC operating systems, security tools, and extensive knowledge of all commonly used PC software and products. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The PC Support Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a PC Support Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Candidate Must have Desktop imaging and machine building experience.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree OR High School Diploma/GED minimum of 4 years of full-time work experience in Information Technology, or related field.
- 4 years of experience with providing IT Desktop Support
- 4 years of experience installing software applications and performing hardware upgrades on desktop computers within a business environment as well as server infrastructure.
- 4 years of experience installing and supporting networked devices such as printers and scanners.
- Possess any of the following certifications: A , Microsoft MCP or MCSE, CompTIA Network or a Cisco CCNA.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate a firm understanding of how to troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Candidate must have a firm understanding of basic networking principles.
- Candidate must have very strong written and verbal communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the on-site escalation point of contact for Tier-1 seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or other form of communication. Support call center. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions. Provide effective communication to the customers. Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support. Log and record issues and resolutions. Follow-up and update customers with status and information.
- Participate in On-Call rotation to Provide After-hours support.
- Install workstations, printers, phone and fax machines computers and appropriate software applications and ensure that all are in good working condition.
Provide technical expertise/training to end-users as needed to resolve equipment or software issues.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.48 - $25.66 per hour
