PC Support Manager manages a team that provides personal computer deployment and support, including setup, installation, repairs, upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting. Maintains the necessary hardware and software inventory and oversees the administration of required licenses. Being a PC Support Manager analyzes PC resource requirements and evaluates available vendors, products, and services that will meet the organization's needs. Implements training programs and develops documentation to support end-users. Additionally, PC Support Manager possesses experience in a LAN environment, a strong understanding of PC operating systems, security tools, and extensive knowledge of all commonly used PC software and products.     GS-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing coordination of training events for organizations, 2) Confirming individual training requirements are met per policy/guidance, 3) Preparing reports and/or briefs for higher ranking officials AND 4) Utilizing an automated database to record completed training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

    GS-11 Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management.

    GS-11 Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

    GS-12: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Development, planning, and execution of complex multi-site and cross organizational training events for an organization, 2) Identifying resources required to support varied levels of program operations AND 3) Analyzing new or proposed regulation to determine impact on program operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

    GS-12 Education: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-12 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
