PACS Administrator is responsible for the daily operations of the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems. Oversees equipment maintenance and systems testing, upgrading, and installing. Being a PACS Administrator acts as a liaison between the Radiology department and customers. Maintains positive vendor relationship. Additionally, PACS Administrator requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The PACS Administrator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a PACS Administrator typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. - 5 years of experience on the iSeries
- At least 18 years of age
- Extensive knowledge of the i5/OS and OS/400 operating systems
- Extensive experience with day-to-day System i administration, i.e. preventative maintenance, problem determination and resolution, high-level system monitoring
- Experience with System i O/S upgrades
- Experience with System i PTF maintenance
- Familiarity with reviewing job logs, history logs, etc.
- Light CL programming skills
- Familiarity with the System i LPAR environment
- Experience using the iSeries Hardware Management Console.
- Experience using Help Systems Robot products.
- Trouble Resolution
- Ability to manage multiple issues and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to coordinate support with other technical areas
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with management and associates
- Must successfully pass background investigation and drug screen according to company policy
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work effectively in a team environment
