PACS Administrator is responsible for the daily operations of the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems. Oversees equipment maintenance and systems testing, upgrading, and installing. Being a PACS Administrator acts as a liaison between the Radiology department and customers. Maintains positive vendor relationship. Additionally, PACS Administrator requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The PACS Administrator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. POSITION SUMMARY: The PACS Administrator / Applications Analyst position provides direct support for the CPH Radiology and Imaging departments, with primary responsibility for supporting the daily operations and maintenance of the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS and CPACS) and the Epic Radiology Information Systems (RIS), as well as coordination of all imaging-related vendor interfacing applications and/or imaging equipment. This position requires a well-developed understanding of client, server, network and storage infrastructure, as well as Epic functional expertise to ensure quality patient care is delivered to all patients on a 24-hour basis, and the Radiology and Imaging departments are maintained in accordance with professional and regulatory standards and the philosophy and goals of CPH.
This role is expected to be a half-time PACS Administration support and part-time as an Application Analyst for Epic and other applications supported by CPH.
