Primary Function:
The Director of Outpatient Psychotherapy Services is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Outpatient Therapy Team Directors, including clinical consultation and direction when needed, supporting compliance, clinical best practices, and generally being a go-to resource for Directors on site. The Director of Outpatient Psychotherapy Services is responsible for setting and meeting performance goals for outpatient therapy, financial and other measures of success. The Director of Outpatient Psychotherapy Services is responsible for collaborating with other department directors toward the overall success of Portland Mental Health & Wellness. This position must have a positive and supportive attitude toward the practice and its overall success. Must have the ability to think globally, solve problems, and have good decision-making skills. The Director of Outpatient Psychotherapy Services will have the option to see patients for the set rate per session and/or provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed practitioners at the set rate for supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Center Organizational Culture Principles & Diversity, Equity, Access and Inclusion Initiatives: You will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that reflect our OCPs and promote diversity, equity, access, and inclusion within Outpatient Psychotherapy Services and PMHW as a whole.
- Develop and implement clinical programs: You will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical programs to provide quality care to clients. This may involve designing treatment plans, implementing evidence-based practices, and ensuring that clinical services meet regulatory and ethical standards.
- Oversee clinical staff: As the Director of Outpatient Psychotherapy Services, you will be responsible for managing and supervising Clinical Directors who in turn support front line clinical staff. You will need to ensure that all staff members adhere to the practice’s policies and procedures and provide high-quality care to clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders: You will need to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, such as referral sources, community organizations, and healthcare providers. This will help you to build a strong referral network and ensure that clients receive appropriate care.
- Manage budget and resources: You will be responsible for managing the budget and resources allocated to the outpatient services department. This may involve developing and monitoring budgets, tracking revenue, identifying cost-saving measures, and ensuring that resources are used efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements: You will need to stay up-to-date on regulatory requirements and ensure that the practice meets all legal and ethical obligations. This may involve developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including clinical chart audits.
- Provide clinical oversight and supervision: As the Director of Outpatient Psychotherapy Services, you will need to provide clinical oversight and administrative supervision to ensure that clinical services are provided in a safe, effective, and ethical manner. This may involve providing consultation, support, and feedback to clinical staff.
- Monitor and report on outcomes: You will need to monitor and report on the outcomes of clinical services to ensure that clients receive high-quality care. This may involve collecting and analyzing data, developing performance metrics, and reporting on outcomes to stakeholders.
- Participate in strategic planning: As a member of the senior management team, you will need to participate in strategic planning and decision-making to ensure that the practice achieves its goals and objectives. This may involve developing and implementing new initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth, facilitating organizational change and growth initiatives, and collaborating with other departments within the practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: A doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited university or Masters Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Clinical Social Work.
- Licensure: The director must be licensed to practice psychology or psychotherapy in the state of Oregon.
- Experience: Previous experience in outpatient therapy services is essential, preferably in a management or leadership role.
- Leadership skills: The director must have strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead a team of therapists, supervise and evaluate clinical staff, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the outpatient therapy services.
- Business acumen: The director should have a good understanding of the financial and business aspects of the psychology practice, including budgeting, billing, and revenue generation.
- Clinical skills: The director should be knowledgeable in a variety of therapeutic approaches and have experience working with a diverse patient population.
- Communication skills: The director must be able to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and other healthcare providers.
- Organizational skills: The director should be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Compliance: The director must be knowledgeable of all applicable legal and ethical standards, including HIPAA regulations and state licensing requirements.
