Outpatient Care Coordinator jobs in Maine
Outpatient Care Coordinator supervises the day-to-day activities of the patient relations team of a healthcare organization to deliver patient liaison services and patient-centric care. Coaches staff on best practices for responding to patient and family questions, concerns, and issues. Being a Outpatient Care Coordinator facilitates collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to make recommendations for improvements to the patient experience. Ensures that escalated problems are addressed and resolved. Additionally, Outpatient Care Coordinator provides and maintains up-to-date informational materials and resources for patients and families. Follows all applicable regulations regarding patient information privacy policies. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of the team processes. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Position Summary

Works independently under general supervision and in accordance with the established policies and procedures, schedules all procedures/bookings for one or several campuses and with other healthcare institutions throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Generates and creates schedules and reports for multiple departments and campuses. May be required to obtain insurance precertification and/or authorization from multiple insurance carriers. May be required to perform other job functions within the department as needed.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Two years post High School education or equivalent experience preferred.

License/Certification: N/A

Experience: Knowledge of specific department (OR, Radiology, Radiation Therapy) practices and procedures usually acquired through two years of previous related experience.

Knowledge of business English, spelling grammar and punctuation.

Ability to maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties.

Independent worker with strong problem solving skills. Ability to multi task.

Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft windows applications. Familiarity with other applications preferred.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, physicians, co workers and other hospital and physicians' office personnel.

Completion of medical terminology course or evidence of strong background in medical terminology from previous work experience. Anatomy and physiology strongly preferred.

Must be detail orientated and be able to concentrate in an active environment. Must be able to handle a wide variety of diverse scheduling calls within departmental guidelines.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the MMC Customer Service and Respect Standards.
