Orthopedic Technician applies and adjusts plaster casts and assembles and attaches orthopedic traction equipment and devices as directed by a physician. Sets up bed traction units or rigs special devices as required, and inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment. Being an Orthopedic Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, completion of Orthopedic Technician training and certification program. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. PRN position available. Weekdays only, no weekends or holidays, One to Two10-hour shifts per week. This position assists in the treatment and care of patients in the Operating Room under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse. Provides assistance to the Operating Room staff by scrubbing for surgical procedures in accordance with the established policies and procedures for the Surgery Center. This responsibility includes the preparation, assembly and organization of the environment, equipment and supplies necessary to perform the surgical procedure that is scheduled.
