Orthopedic Technician applies and adjusts plaster casts and assembles and attaches orthopedic traction equipment and devices as directed by a physician. Sets up bed traction units or rigs special devices as required, and inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment. Being an Orthopedic Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, completion of Orthopedic Technician training and certification program. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Counselor to join our team. As a Student Counselor you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to our students. Your role will involve assessing clients' needs, developing plans, coordinating services, and advocating for their well-being. Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' needs and develop individualized plans
- Collaborate with clients to set goals and monitor progress towards achieving them
- Coordinate and connect clients with appropriate community resources and services, such as Section 8 housing, childcare assistance, workforce development programs, addiction counseling, and behavioral health services
- Monitor student's progress and make adjustments to plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and healthcare providers, to ensure holistic care for clients
- Provide mentoring and guidance to clients in order to empower them to make positive changes in their lives
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in social work and/or a related field or the equivelent of four plus years experience
- Proven experience in case management or a similar role
- Knowledge of community resources and services available to individuals in need
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficient in using computer software for documentation purposes
