JOB SUMMARY
The Learning & Development Organizational Communication Consultant uses advanced technical expertise, professional training, facilitation, and organizational design experience to resolve complex organizational issues and needs assessments where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation and understanding of organization business strategies and objectives. The incumbent will apply expertise in organizational and instructional design, group facilitation, and training to support units and departments to build organizational capacity and health. The Organizational Communication Consultant implements the vision for a talent and succession planning strategy, and develops new training initiatives, in addition to administering campus and system wide professional development opportunities. The Learning & Development Organizational Consultant, provides consultation and advising on training courses of diverse scope to impact an increasingly diverse and multi-generational workforce. The incumbent initiates and designs highly complex training studies, needs analysis and metrics to ensure effectiveness of current and new training initiatives. The incumbent works collaboratively with the L&D Manager, Training Consultant and Coordinator to ensure alignment and consistency across the programs and initiatives sponsored by Learning & Development. Works collaboratively with the L&D Manager in assessing and evaluating the impact of training programs and professional development opportunities provided by the Unit.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $99,000 - $115,000/annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
Under California law, the University of California, Santa Cruz is required to post a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. The salary shown above is the budgeted amount the University reasonably expects to pay and the salary extended should not exceed this posted amount.

Applies advanced professional training and organizational development skills to resolve highly complex training issues and needs assessment initiatives.

Develops content for instructor-led training and asynchronous training, to address departmental assessment results, as well overall industry trends reflecting the general needs and interests of the university.

Works collaboratively and effectively in a diverse environment with others across the organization, important external contacts, and members of organization management at all levels to resolve highly complex training issues, where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation and understanding of organization strategies and business objectives.

Initiates and designs highly complex training studies, needs analysis and evaluation metrics to ensure effectiveness of current and new training initiatives. Applies knowledge of campus culture to implement complex training initiatives, projects and programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience and / or training.
