Organizational Psychologist studies and assesses the organizations workforce, management, culture, business objectives, and challenges using psychological principles and research methods. Designs and develops programs and tools that will be appropriate for the needs of the organization and which will assist employees and management to better achieve desired goals. Being an Organizational Psychologist utilizes various methods including employee surveys, focus groups, skill assessments, performance appraisals, and other feedback mechanisms to assist management in identifying issues and driving improvements. Creates solutions and programs that may be focused on employee selection, job training, leadership training, workplace and family issues, and change management. Additionally, Organizational Psychologist requires a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Psychologist works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     Montecito Bank & Trust is offering a paid Organizational Learning internship in our Organizational Learning department. This intern will work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with all members of the Organizational Learning department as well as other Bank departments as needed.

     

    Minimum Requirements, Activities, & Responsibilities

    Education and Experience: 

    • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 2 years of College/University coursework preferred.

    Intern Responsibilities: 

    Under the direct supervision of the Organizational Learning Manager, the intern will provide support for the following training projects:

    • Succession Planning
    • Predictive Index Tools
    • Goal Setting & Annual Reviews
    • Development Plans & Check Ins
    • Speed of Trust
    • On the job training checklists
    • Update training criticality data (turnover rate, time to fill position, available training, etc.)
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Capabilities:

    • Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong critical thinking skills.
    • Strong analytical capabilities (familiarity with data, data integrity, and report creation).
    • Ability to organize data in Excel and analyze for key findings.
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Ability to teach/train others.

    Anticipated Outcomes:

    • To provide work experience that will integrate the knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skill development learned in a professional setting.

    Schedule:

    • Internship program will run from May/June 2024 through August/September 2024 (flexible depending on school schedule or other job obligations).
    • The position will be on-site up to 30 hours per week for 12 weeks, with the potential to be hybrid.

     The hiring range for this position is $16.
