Organizational Psychologist jobs in New Jersey

Organizational Psychologist studies and assesses the organizations workforce, management, culture, business objectives, and challenges using psychological principles and research methods. Designs and develops programs and tools that will be appropriate for the needs of the organization and which will assist employees and management to better achieve desired goals. Being an Organizational Psychologist utilizes various methods including employee surveys, focus groups, skill assessments, performance appraisals, and other feedback mechanisms to assist management in identifying issues and driving improvements. Creates solutions and programs that may be focused on employee selection, job training, leadership training, workplace and family issues, and change management. Additionally, Organizational Psychologist requires a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Organizational Psychologist works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     Short Description

    Responsible for the execution and implementation of organizational development initiatives for Cooper University Health Care.

    Develops and implements talent management systems and structures including the assessment and development of leadership talent, identification of talent strengths and development opportunities, succession planning and identification and development of high potentials & future leadership.

    Drives the organizational engagement strategy, partnering with key stakeholders to customize approaches as needed.

    Assumes responsibility for Cooper’s Operating Calendar.

    Leads the Cooper Academy for Learning and Innovation

    Assures that rewards and recognition programs are designed and aligned with organizational priorities.

    Designs and establishes benchmarks that measure the impact and effectiveness of organizational development programs on the organization’s overall performance.

    Connects leader and staff development to workforce planning analytics and key stakeholders to develop the talent pipelines of the future.

    Oversees the operations of the Cooper Conference Center.

    Partners with the HR Business Partner team on departmental OD interventions

    Possess a great mix of project management, classroom standup skills and solid experience in relationship management with clients in a highly complex academic medicine environment.

    Facilitates large scale change initiatives in support of Cooper’s strategic goals.



    Experience Required

    A minimum of 10 years, progressive experience in human resources, with at least 5 years experience in Organizational Development and leadership roles.



    Must have a proven track record in developing and managing programs/processes to develop leaders and driving organizational culture

    Education Requirements

    Bachelor Degree required. MBA, MS OR MA preferred

    License/Certification Requirements

    Certification preferred in at least two organizational development programs or assessment tools such as MBTI, Crucial Conversations, Emotional Intelligence, 360 degree feedback, HBDI, GDQ
