Organizational Development Manager jobs in California

Organizational Development Manager manages all aspects of organizational development. Oversees the development of training programs, facilitation of change management initiatives, and review of current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Manager develops programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Facilitates the development and implementation of employee performance measurements to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Manager assesses leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Organizational Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Organizational Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • We are currently seeking an Organizational Development Manager for our corporate HR team based in any of the following areas: St. Louis, MO; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; or Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles, CA; Newport Beach, CA: San Diego, CA; or Sacramento, CA (or Bay Area).

    An important member of the HR Organizational Development team, this person must be able to collaborate with both HR Business Partners and regional leadership to develop solutions that improve team or organizational results; as well as facilitate team sessions and manage assigned OD projects. Specific areas of focus include team kickoffs, general team dynamics facilitation, Diversity, Equity& Inclusion projects, companywide culture & strategic initiatives, and other ad hoc OD projects.

    Project Management

    • Plan and manage project scope, resources, and activities
    • Ensure processes, schedules, and tactics achieve results
    • Monitor and report progress
    • Project examples include: execution of a 2-day national conference, develop and manage an approach to determine employee perspectives on work/life balance, identify the scope and resources needed for supporting the roll out of a companywide process change

    Group and Team Facilitation

    • Conducting needs assessment to identify needs for group/team facilitation
    • Proactively or by request schedule project and/or department team sessions
    • Use surveys or interviews to determine team goals and challenges
    • Facilitate sessions that result in role, goal, and structural clarity, good communication & productive conflict
    • Compile summaries and next steps as well as monitor results and provide additional follow up

    Organizational Consulting

    • Design solutions to improve team or organizational results
    • Collaborate with both HR Business Partners and regional leadership and management
    • Perform descriptive and exploratory data analysis
    • Conduct needs, cause and context analysis
    • Develop problem statements/objectives/outcomes
    • Facilitate change for teams, business partners, companywide culture and strategic initiatives, etc.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree. Business or Social Sciences or related fields preferred.
    • 5-10 years’ experience in HR, OD, or Learning & Development activities
    • Experience with organizational analysis and solution development related to strategy, team dynamics, culture and change
    • Strong group facilitation skills
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Ability to navigate leadership and political environments
    • Talent for building relationships and connecting with individuals at all levels.
    • Superior verbal and written communications skills
    • Familiarity with data analysis methods and approaches
    • Commitment to understanding and maintaining high standards, especially related to employee/client experiences
    • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
    • Proactive approach is a plus, also able to flex and work both independently and as part of a team
    • 40% domestic overnight travel (by week) is required
