Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Under general supervision of the Director, provides support to the Emory University schools and departments that strengthen workforce capabilities for a high performing organization.
    • Facilitates teambuilding, change management, communication, conflict management, and related workshops for clients across the university.
    • Develops customized workshops based on the needs of each client.
    • Designs and administers surveys; analyzes survey data; and documents and presents results.
    • Develops and implements intervention strategies relevant to organization needs and strategic priorities.
    • Administers assessments such as Birkman, DiSC, and 360 Feedback for own clients and the clients of others on the team.
    • Delivers assessment feedback in individual and group settings; assists and coaches others in building effective development plans and follow up activities.
    • Occasionally provides customized, on-site training aligned with client's strategic priorities.
    • Performs related responsibilities as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field and three years of experience in organizational development, training and development or related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, interpersonal and influencing skills, and conflict management skills.
    • Excellent consulting, facilitation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Must be able to work collaboratively within the University and effectively manage multiple projects.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A master's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources or related field is preferred.
    • Certifications/Licenses in behavioral assessments (e.g., Birkman, DiSC), experience with statistical software packages, and experience with MS-Excel, including basic statistical functions and graphing data, is also preferred.
    • A thorough understanding and experience with adult learning strategies, project management, change management, and measurement/assessment methodologies.

    NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
