Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.     Position Summary

    NOTE: CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLGE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME.

    The Director of Workforce Development oversees workforce development programs and activities college-wide and works collaboratively with the Alabama Community College System to implement initiatives to strengthen workforce training opportunities within the State of Alabama. This includes managing non-credit short-term training, customizing training for businesses and industries, and workforce grants management. The Director of Workforce Development will assist the Associate Dean of Career and Technical Education and Workforce Training in the development and coordination of strategic initiatives that are aligned with the overall strategic plan for the College.

    Salary: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule C3, Rank II: $59,979-$96,761.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned by the Associate Dean of Career and Technical Education and Workforce Training.)

    1. Plan, develop, and implement customized workforce training programs to meet regional and state economic development efforts.

    2. Coordinate all marketing efforts for workforce development projects.

    3. Directly supervise and evaluate personnel.

    4. Serve as the liaison for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for the College.

    5. Facilitate workforce grant initiatives and processes.

    6. Participate in local or state-wide regional Workforce Development Council meetings, workshops, and seminars to enhance professional development.

    7. Serve on college committees and establish membership with the local Chambers of Commerce.

    8. Work collaboratively with the Associate Dean of Career and Technical Education and Workforce Training to align non- credit programs with for-credit workforce programs (degree/certificate) credential attainment and job placement rates.

    9. Work a flexible schedule that may involve travel with some evening and weekend work.

    10. Establish a pipeline in workforce awareness by facilitating career exploration programs and STEM camps for K-12 partners.

    11. Facilitate Skills for Success Training initiatives.

    12. Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop workforce, non-credit training curriculums.

    13. Host career and job fairs to strengthen workforce opportunities for the service delivery area.

    14. Perform other related duties as assigned.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College.

    2. As a Campus Security Authority (CSA), report to the official or office designated by the institution to collect crime report information, such as the campus police or security department, those allegations of Clery Act crimes that the CSA concludes were made in good faith.

    3. Maintain confidentiality of identified sensitive information and of departmental information.

    4. Remain current in and enhance professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing e

    5. Interact with and serve diverse student and employee populations in a courteous and friendly manner.

    6. Adhere to College standards of professionalism and confidentiality, including courteous and friendly interaction with other CVCC employees.

    7. Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in Alabama Community College System and College policies and assigned by dean.

    8. Recruit potential students, both traditional and nontraditional, to the College, and assist in retention efforts.

    9. Prepare annual departmental budgets

    10. Approve expenditures and monitors monthly department budgets

    11. Represent the institution in a positive manner.

    12. Serve on committees as assigned.

    13. Participate in graduation.

    14. Participate in the College's planning process.

    15. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field of study
    • Three (3) or more years of full-time work-related experience in workforce training or economic development
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • High degree of workplace professionalism
    • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
    • Ability to understand complex reporting requirements
    • Ability to work a flexible, nonstandard work week
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; proficiency in the English language
    • Competent use of the Microsoft Office suite

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s degree in a related field of study
