Organizational Development Director jobs in California

Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Role Overview:

    As the Director of Organizational Development and Culture at NetEase Group, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and nurturing a positive and innovative work environment with our studios and supporting business departments in North America and Europe. This role is instrumental in driving organizational effectiveness, fostering a strong company culture, and ensuring the development and growth of our talented and innovative teams. As a key member of the Global HRBP & COE team, you will collaborate closely with studio heads and department leaders to align organizational strategies with our overall business objectives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design and implementation of organizational development strategies to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and agility across studios and relevant supporting business departments in NetEase.
    • Conduct organizational assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to address gaps.
    • Anticipate organizational change and proactively provide frameworks for change management towards business goals.
    • Develop, promote, and maintain a positive and inclusive organizational culture that prioritizes the studios’ values and mission.
    • Adapts and aligns corporate values with behaviors within studios and relevant departments.
    • Implement programs and initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
    • Collaborate closely with Talent Development to incorporate organizational development and culture concepts in the design and implementation of leadership development programs to cultivate a strong pipeline of leaders within the organization.
    • Provide coaching and support to executives, managers, and team leads to foster effective leadership behaviors.
    •  Collaborate with HRBPs and other HR functions to develop and implement talent management strategies, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development that reinforces and expands our talent standards.
    • Drive initiatives to attract, retain, and develop top talent within the gaming industry.
    • Develop and implement programs to support the well-being of employees, including mental health initiatives, wellness programs, and work-life balance initiatives.
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments to ensure a cohesive and united organizational culture.
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and align organizational development initiatives accordingly.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of organizational development and culture initiatives.
    • Provide regular reports to executive leadership on the progress and outcomes of programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in organizational development, talent management, or a related field.
    • Proven track record of successfully leading organizational development and culture initiatives within the gaming or digital content industry.
    • Strong understanding of the gaming industry and its unique challenges and opportunities.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels.
    • Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
    • Must be passionate about cultivating a positive and innovative work environment within a dynamic game development company with complex organizational structures and processes.

    Compensation Range: $147,000 - $225,000
