Develops training programs, facilitates change management initiatives, and reviews current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Consultant builds human capital through employee development programs. Measures employee performance to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Consultant implements and reports on the effectiveness of leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. At University Hospital, an academic medical center, northern New Jersey’s Level I Trauma Center, and regional resource for advanced care in a wide range of medical specialties, and under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director Learning and Organizational Development directs the various activities involved in the coordination and administration of education/training programs and policies aimed at staff development, and enhancement at all levels. Provides expertise to operating units in the application of such concepts as performance improvement, job enrichment, team building, conflict resolution and special skills programs designed to promote organizational development and effectiveness.
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Organizational Development, Human Resources Administration, Behavioral Science, Business Administration or a related field. A minimum of six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience in creative/innovative work and research directed toward operational improvement and management development, including at least three (3) years in a managerial capacity. Knowledge of organizational development and performance improvement principles is essential. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement
