We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting the optometrist in providing high-quality eye care services to our patients. Responsibilities:
- Perform front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records
- Conduct preliminary tests and measurements, including visual acuity, and intraocular pressure
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures
- Assist the optometrist during eye examinations, including documenting patient history and symptoms
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as visual field testing
- Provide support in contact lens fittings, including instruction on insertion, removal, and care of contact lenses
- Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
- Adhere to strict aseptic technique protocols to ensure patient safety
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Optometric Technician or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry preferred but not required
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Revolution)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately perform measurements and tests
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
