Optician jobs in Missouri

We are looking for an Optician to join our Optometry practice in O'Fallon, MO. This person must be a positive and outgoing professional who has a deep passion for caring for patients. Experience is not required. This position will be 30-40 hours a week.

As an Optician you will build a relationship with the patients and their family. Your skills and knowledge will help patients choose the best options for their specific life style and their specific fashion. Listening and communication skills are very important as an Optician.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet patients walking into the optical department.
• Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences.
• Achieve sales goals and quotas as determined by office staff while attending to patients’ specific needs and desires.
• Maintain records of patient prescriptions, glasses orders, and payments.
• Inquire and record insurance co payments and charges, in house discounts, and special lens sales.
• Repair broken frames and make adjustments as necessary to patients' needs.
• Insert invoice numbers/dispense days/times to track patient orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Customer satisfaction.

As an Optician, the team member must exhibit the ability to work well within the team environment, supporting all aspects of the practice and delivering on the patient experience.

Communication Skills
The Optician must be able to effectively communicate with our patients all the products and charges. Communicating in a manner by which the patient understands.

Pace of the Environment
Must be able to work at a fast pace. Effectively handling multiple tasks and patients at one time, while focusing on the individual patient experience. Attendance is a must because this position is key in the flow of the office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
