Ophthalmic Technician provides technical services to assigned ophthalmic patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures, including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry, and keratometry. Being an Ophthalmic Technician prepares patients for exams and procedures. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments. Additionally, Ophthalmic Technician may assist physicians in performing minor surgical and laser procedures. May dispense contact lenses. Typically requires an associate degree. May require Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). May require Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Typically reports to a manager. Associates In Eyecare has been providing eye care to the Denver community since 1977. Our 3 physician Ophthalmology practice is looking for an energetic team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have experience with working up a patient from patient history, visual acuities, tonometry, strong refracting skills, contact lenses, fundus photos, visual field testing and OCT imaging. There is potential commuting to the Silverthorne area once a month.
