Ophthalmic Technician jobs in Hutchinson, KS
Ophthalmic Technician provides technical services to assigned ophthalmic patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures, including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry, and keratometry. Being an Ophthalmic Technician prepares patients for exams and procedures. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments. Additionally, Ophthalmic Technician may assist physicians in performing minor surgical and laser procedures. May dispense contact lenses. Typically requires an associate degree. May require Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). May require Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Typically reports to a manager. Ophthalmic Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Retina practice is seeking full-time, patient-focused, detail-oriented, and energetic ophthalmic technicians to join our growing team. Medical experience is preferred, ophthalmic experience would be great – but we’ll train the right person. Salary consistent with experience and position. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are dependable and have excellent customer service and patient care skills.
Responsibilities and duties can include:
- Obtaining and documenting patient medical histories
- Performing specialized diagnostic testing
- Ability to navigate and document in an electronic medical record system
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Scribe experience a plus, but training is offered
- Surgical scrub tech experience a plus, but training is offered
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers
- Travel to satellite locations within the state of Kansas

Office hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, although satellite days will run longer.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,360.00 - $45,760.00 per year
