We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists in providing quality eye care to our patients. Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye examinations, including gathering patient medical history and conducting visual acuity tests
- Administer diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging
- Assist ophthalmologists with various procedures, including but not limited to, refractometry, contact lens fitting, and eye muscle testing
- Provide patient education on eye care, contact lens use, and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records
- Handle medical billing and coding tasks accurately and efficiently
- Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
- Adhere to aseptic technique standards to prevent infection transmission

Experience:
- Previous experience working in ophthalmology or optometry setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, equipment, and instruments
- Familiarity with medical billing systems and processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Proficient in medical terminology related to ophthalmology
- Knowledge of ocular anatomy and common eye conditions
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
